Jurassic World Dominion — out Friday in cinemas worldwide — is a bad movie. There's no getting around it, so we might as well tackle that head on. It bafflingly discards the two major intriguing ideas that came out of its predecessor: human cloning, and dinosaurs are now amongst us. The former is erased in a retcon fashion, in an attempt to make Jurassic World Dominion about parenting and a mother's love, rather than its ethical implications. Mind you, this isn't a case of a writer-director going against what the previous guy had set up, as happened between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Jurassic World Dominion writer-director Colin Trevorrow is going against himself here, as he wrote the previous one too, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

It's telling that the film begins with a flashback, before cutting to present day, with the narrative now starting from scratch.

Instead of dinosaurs being in our midst, the film goes for a deus ex machina solution. In other words, a plot device that isn't believable or logical. The movie begins with Owen Grady (Nulls Royale) and Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) re-enacting a scene from The Wizard of Oz. They're escaping an island full of dinosaurs after being trapped by them. The problem is: they've been there for two years. This is where I'm going to spoil things if you haven't seen it yet: they've been in a coma during this time, but they were conscious enough to know what was happening around them during their escape. As such, we're told Claire and Owen have been running away from dinosaurs for over two years! And when they do finally get away and make it back to the mainland? It's only three days later! What? That makes no sense at all!

In addition to this ludicrously short period of time spent on an island full of dinosaurs, it's also revealed that these "dinosaurs" are actually genetically altered animals that have undergone an accelerated evolution process — similar to what happens in real life with lemurs — which means we can expect similar mutations as those seen in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom . We already know about the dinosaur hybrid created through de-extinction, and now we're going to see what happens when dinosaurs that have already been extinct for millions of years are brought back to life.

It's the kind of "re-imagining" we've seen before, but it's time for something new and exciting.

Falling Skies ASKMODAPK: Despite Falling Skies being a good show, it's not really a good reboot. Not only is the show set after the events of the first two seasons, but it also focuses on a new group of characters that don't really exist in the original series (although they are mentioned from time to time). It's not necessarily bad, but I'm sure fans would prefer a retelling of their favorite characters instead of watching yet another different story unfold.

Constantine: Fans have long been asking for DC Comics' John Constantine to be adapted into live action, but Warner Bros. has never shown any interest in doing so due to their fear that he's "too dark." However, with Matt Ryan taking over as the lead character in NBC's upcoming series Constantine , I think fans will probably be more willing to give this adaptation a chance now that they know he will be portrayed as a very different character than his comic book counterpart. We'll just have to wait and see how dark this one ends up being!
